Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a Public Tour/Event and a Private one?
Public Tours are available for anyone to join. They're scheduled regularly and you can check our calendar and register to join them so long as there is space available. You'll be part of a group of fellow exploreres, usually not more than 12 guests in total for Food Tours or 8 in total for Glider Tours
What type of vehicles do the driving food tours use?
We typically use our company-owned 14-passenger vans. These are late-model vans equipped with high roofs so that you won't be crouching to enter and exit, and they're air-conditioned to keep you out of the heat!
How big is a tour group?
For our public tours, we keep the groups small and generally limit them to no more than 12.
Is there an age limit to who can join?
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also registered for the tour. You must be 14 years old or older to register for and attend any public tour. In order to enjoy an alcoholic beverage at any food tour stop, you must of course be 21 years of age or older. We will check the ID of anyone who intends to drink alcohol on a food tour, regardless of age. If you plan to drink alcohol, please bring your ID and be prepared to show it at check-in, regardless of your age. We reserve the right to ask any person exhibiting signs of intoxication to leave the tour, without a refund. There is no age restriction for Private Tours.
Can you accommodate Allergies or Food Preferences?
If you'll tell us when we start the public tour, or when you register for a private tour, we can usually accommodate preferences, but there's no guarantee. There may not be substitutions available at each of the places we visit.
What is your refund policy?
What is included on the Food Tours?
Transportation, tour guide services, and food from all tour stops are included in the price. Water is served at all tour stops. Unless it is a featured item on the tour, beverages are not included. Any additional food or drink items you order at tour stops are not included in the tour price. You may not bring your own beverages into a restaurant or food stop, though you are welcome to bring beverages with a lid onto any tours that travel in a van.
What time should I plan to arrive?
Plan to arrive 10 minutes before the Food Tour start time, and 15 minutes before a Glider Tour. Tours leaves promptly at the tour start time.
What happens if the weather is bad at the scheduled tour time?
Typically, tours happen in all weather. In the infrequent case that we need to cancel a tour due to severe, unsafe weather, we'll get in touch with you as early as possible. If we cancel a tour due to severe weather, you will receive a rain check / gift certificate to attend another tour within the next 30 days.
Are gratuities accepted by the Guide?
Gratuities are added to Private Tours, but not to Public Tours, where they are welcome and appreciated, but completely at the discretion of tour participants. We also welcome and appreciate your reviews and feedback on TripAdvisor and Yelp!
